Privacy
excur has no accounts and no logins. It does not know who you are, and there is nothing here to sign up for. Nothing that tracks you runs unless you say so, and saying no costs you nothing. This page describes what little it does store and why, in plain terms rather than as a list of rights you have to decode.
What stays on your device
Your shortlist, your comparison set and your trip plan never leave your
browser. They are held in your browser's own local storage, under the keys
excur.shortlist.v1, excur.compare.v1 and
excur.trip.v2. They are not sent to our server, so we cannot see
them, cannot recover them for you, and they do not follow you to another
device. Clearing your browsing data deletes them.
Cookies we set without asking
Three, none of which identifies you. Two are set only when you make a choice, and the third only when you answer the cookie question:
ccyremembers whether you want prices in Canadian dollars, US dollars, euros, pounds or Australian dollars. Set when you pick a currency.sailingremembers which cruise you are planning, so the excursions shown are the ones for your ports on your dates. Set when you choose or add a cruise.consentremembers your answer to the cookie question below. It exists so we do not ask you again, which is only possible if we remember that you said no.
The first two last a year, the third about six months, and each contains nothing but the choice itself: a currency code, the identifier of a sailing, or a yes/no. None is shared with anyone.
Measurement, only if you allow it
We would like to know which links people actually use, which requires a script provided by a third party (currently GetYourGuide, whose tours we link to). That script is not on the page at all unless you have accepted it. Not loaded and idle: absent. If you decline, or have not answered yet, your browser never contacts them.
Refusing is one click, the same as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time from the Cookie choice link at the bottom of every page. Declining costs you nothing on this site: every feature works identically either way.
Beyond that there are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no analytics of our own. If that ever changes, this page changes first and the choice above will cover it.
What our server records
The web server keeps ordinary request logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. That is the standard operation of any web server rather than a profile of you, and the logs are not used to build one.
When you leave for a booking site
Booking links point to the operator selling the tour, most often Viator. Those links carry an affiliate identifier so any resulting booking is credited to us; see the affiliate disclosure. Once you follow one, you are on that company's website under their privacy policy and their cookies, not ours. We never send them your shortlist, your trip or anything else about your visit.
Your data rights
Because there are no accounts, there is no profile to export, correct or delete. Everything about your visit is either on your own device, where you control it directly, or in server logs that are not linked to an identity. If you want everything gone, clear this site's data in your browser.
Your cookie choice can be withdrawn at any time from the Cookie choice link in the footer, and takes effect on the next page you load.
Children
This is a trip-planning tool for adults. It is not directed at children and collects nothing about them.
Changes
If this ever changes, and in particular if advertising is introduced, this page is updated first and the cookie choice above covers it: no advertising script will run before you have accepted one.
